Front and Back, or Back and Front

So, this is to be a two-sided quilt. One side will have orange and green blocks, while the other side will have green, blue and gray blocks. Here they are, unassembled.




Now I need to go to the quilt shop and get off white fabric for the sashing and the borders (simulated here by the wrinkly sheet). I think I will need about 9 yards, eep! Good thing solid colors are cheaper...

Since this is a queen size quilt for our bed, this one will be professionally quilted. How exciting!

If only the squirrels knew what beauty they were eating when they chew off the tops, they would refrain from their destruction. I like to think so.

New project

Yay I started on my new quilt this morning. It is based on this pattern, which I bought from her etsy store, and so far I really like it. It is going together really fast. You start with two fat quarters, cut a bunch of rectangles, and sew them together. For the whole quilt you use 8 pairs of fat quarters. I started with one set this morning, cut the pieces,



sewed them together, and ironed them, all in about 45 minutes.


The pattern is also very efficient, there was only this much left over from the original pieces of fabric:

More fabric obsession

Well it is time for another round of fabric obsession. Usually in May all the christmas themed fabrics come out, and I ignore them. But there are some others that look good. I must write them down to remind myself to find them when they come to stores.... There is:
