Well since you asked, I do have a new job. For the past few years I had been doing research 100% of the time. Then for the past year or so I was doing teaching 50% and research 50%, since there was an urgent teaching need in the department I work in.
In 2007 I planned to just do research 60% time, since I am tired of working a full time job. Then my old boss from 6 -7 years ago asked me to start working for her part time. This is a new job for me: fundraising. I am working with her to develop some proposals that she hopes to get funded, so it is a writing job. I think she likes my organizational skills and writing skills, but I am worried that she is going to become disillusioned when she realizes I have no fundraising skills. I am not the type of person to go out and ask people for money.
So, now I do research from 8 to 3, and squeeze in as much writing as I can during the times when my experiments are incubating or whatever. I have also been working a bit on the weekends, which I HATE. Since we don't have internet access at home my internet surfing has dropped to almost nothing (probably a good thing) but I feel like I haven't been able to keep in touch with people very well. I think we are moving to get internet at home, we are just VERY SLOW about things like that.
I haven't been blogging, reading blogs, or playing with my flickr site at all since January. Sniff Sniff. I know I am lucky to have had the time to do those things ( and at work!) in the past....
