Top done

Here is a photo of the finished quilt top. It is supposed to have a border but I think I will skip it. I am not sure I like the outcome, somehow it looks rather random. Oh well.

I still have to piece the back, quilt it, and then sew on the binding, but I am hoping to finish it by the end of the month..... so I can start on my next project, another quilt!

Hmmmmm

I have now done ten blocks and I am realizing that this might not have been the best choice of block pattern for these fabrics. The bold and large-scale patterns in the fabrics might be better served by a simpler block design. Oh well, I will still like it overall.

These are the NEW trays I got at the estate sale, aren't they great? My mom was not fond of them, but my husband likes them. I like how they are very graphic and bold, with clean lines. They are about 16 inches in diameter and were only $2 each.



I am going to repaint the room a more neutral color, the greyish-blue clashes with the bright colors.

Here is something I got from the last outing, for only $3. Way cute! the tray is about 10 by 14 inches, so it is a serving tray. With Ducks!
