Inspiration

I got the book Imperishable Beauty from the library. It is a book of art nouveau jewelry and it is absolutely stunning.

I took the bird image above and played with it in photoshop, and since I don't know much about photoshop, it was more accidental than purposeful.

This was using the cutout feature:

And this one is a simple stamp.

Pottery Addiction

Hi, I am a secret pottery addict. When I seen nice pottery I just want to caress it and pet it and fondle it. Lately, I have seen some pretty nice stuff on etsy and elsewhere...

This is from Kim Westad:

This one is from Bridgman Pottery:

This is from Red Hot Pottery:

Can you tell I like my pottery smooth? All the better to caress and fondle.

Fabric urges

Sigh, more fabric collections are coming out that I MUST have. I am beginning to think that I like just collecting fabric almost as much as using it. Seems silly, but I guess it is better than collecting some other things, like old Coca Cola memorabilia, because at least I can use the fabric to make something..... at least that is what I tell myself.

Anyway, I must have this collection by Tanya Whelan, called Dolce. I have already found a place to buy it, the Fat Quarter Shop, and am on their notification list for when the fabric comes in. it reminds me of the 1920's and the Thin Man movies, and cigarette holders and cocktails.

Also, I must get Denyse Schmidt's Hope Valley. I haven't found a place that I know is going to stock it yet...... so I will keep looking. It would make a great string quilt.

And I also like this collection, very arts and crafts.

Getting there

I am almost finished with the blue half of my two sided quilt. All I have to do is put on the 12 inch natural borders and then I can send them to be quilted. Of course, I have to arrange for someone to do the quilting....
